Susan Vaughn celebrates her 40th year as owner/teacher and Artistic Director of SVSD, Inc. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old and graduated from Butler University with a major in Dance and a minor in Education. In addition to her BS degree from Butler, she obtained an Associates degree from Lansing Community College, a Masters Degree from Chicago National Association of Dance Masters and an A+ from Dance Masters of America - Teachers Training School at Kent State University in Ballet, Tap and Jazz. Susan's endless love of children and the world of dance is evident in all that she is and does.The summer of 2008 she attended her 31st year at the CNADM convention and was awarded member of the year.
Alayna Comito
Alayna Comito Warner has been with Susan Vaughn School of Dance since she was 5 years old and has been teaching dance for the last twelve years. Alayna received her member certificate from the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters in 1998. She attended Dance Masters of America -four year - Teacher Training School and received her Certification in 2006. She is DMA certified to teach Tap Ballet and Jazz. Her steel trap memory makes her a valuable asset to the SVSD teaching staff.
Robin Carson
Robin Carson has been dancing for 28 years and has taught dance for 17years. She has her CDE - certified dance educator certificate from Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, and another certificate from the Dance Masters of America teachers training school. Robin also has a BBA in business management and a minor in music. Her enthusiasm and fun-loving personality makes her an excellent instructor for both children and adults.
Aimie Smith joins the faculty at SVSD fall of 2009. She began dancing at the age of 3 and has studied Tap, Jazz, Modern, Ballet and Ballroom. Her dance experience includes 16 years at Connies School of Dance, numerous High School and theatre performances and "The Underwater Embrace" at Studio Deeply Art. She has studied with Martha Petry at JCC and Heather Vaughn-Southard at Albion college. She has choreographed numerous pieces including a 1st place piece for "Mock Rock at Albion College.
